IWR202 Description
Core Purpose
The IWR202 is an industrial-grade router built to connect field devices to central systems through cellular and wired networks. It links serial equipment, Ethernet devices, and Wi-Fi clients into one unified communication system.Designed for industrial IoT and M2M deployments, it ensures stable data transmission in demanding environments. Dual SIM support allows continuous connectivity even if one network becomes unavailable.
Connectivity and Communication
The router supports 4G LTE (CAT4/CAT6) and 5G RedCap versions, enabling flexible deployment depending on network availability. With dual SIM automatic switching, it helps maintain constant online status. It includes 1× WAN and 1× LAN (10/100M), allowing separation of external and internal networks. Built-in Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) supports local wireless access for nearby devices. For secure communication, the device supports VPN protocols such as IPsec, OpenVPN, and WireGuard. A built-in SPI firewall and DDoS protection mechanisms enhance network security. The router also supports MQTT and HTTP data transmission, enabling integration with cloud platforms and remote servers. Remote management via platform or PC client simplifies device maintenance across distributed installations.
Industrial Integration and Data Handling
The IWR202 includes RS232 and RS485 interfaces, enabling direct connection to industrial controllers, meters, and legacy serial devices. It also supports MODBUS TCP and Modbus RTU for status monitoring and control. With 1× DI and 1× DO, the router can interact with external sensors or trigger outputs based on system events. Bridging and transparent transmission functions allow seamless data forwarding between networks. This makes it suitable for scenarios where serial and Ethernet devices must communicate through cellular infrastructure.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The device operates within a wide DC 9–36V range, supporting various industrial power systems. Built-in over-voltage and reverse-phase protection increase operational safety. Its aluminum IP30 metal housing provides mechanical durability for cabinet installations. The router operates reliably between –40°C and +75°C, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments.Compact dimensions (91.4 × 92.4 × 31 mm) allow installation in space-limited control cabinets. Rail and wall mounting options offer flexible deployment.
